version 2.0.2 (December 2007) - this is a recommended update

Features Fixes Known Issues

 none

Fixed a "hole" in password protection that could under some circumstances corrupt the archive.  When you add the first archive destination, DocShield checks to see if there is an archive already at that location.  If one exists and if it is password protected, a matching password for the application must be set before the archive can be utilized.  Prior to this fix, the user was merely warned to first go to the Options tab and set the archive password.  In the interim, the archive was blocked from being used.  However, under certain circumstances, it could be used and the archive would become corrupted.  This new version forces the user to immediately enter the matching password

For "Open" and "Open With" operations, the temporary files created are left on the hard drive longer (approximately 60 seconds) before they are deleted.  This corrected a situation with applications that took longer to open and thus could not open the file because it had been deleted.

For an FTP "Delete" operation, added an "Are you sure?" dialog.

version 2.0.1 (November 2007) - this is a recommended update

Features Fixes Known Issues

 none

Fixed a bug in "failover" processing.  When multiple destinations are defined, failover leverages other, redundant archive destinations if there is any kind of error while processing the archive file.  It also "reconciles" the problem destinations by attempting to copy the archive file from "good" destinations to "problem" destinations. Prior to this fix, failovers had the potential of happening more than was necessary, did not reconcile (fix) the "problem" destinations well, and bothered the user more than was needed.

version 2.0.0 (October 2007)

Features Fixes Known Issues
<new major version>  <new major version> Issue: On some systems, if you are color-coding documents, any scrolling of the list will cause colored list entries to lose their color until the window is repainted.  This is an issue with the Windows OS.

Workaround: Using regedit.exe, set the Registry key value in HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PanIO\DocShield\Ownerdraw to 1.  This tells DocShield to take over the drawing responsibilities for the list. It will solve the color problem, but you may lose the "XP" style of the list.

Issue: For some types of files, opening them from the "View" window (using "Open" or "Open With" will not work correctly.  The application acting on that file may not consider it a valid file for that application.

Workaround: First, extract the file or "Save As" to a folder of your choice.  Once in the folder, open with the application as desired (i.e. - doubleclick the mouse).
